Hall of Fame Websites

Monday, February 27th, 2006

Over the years working in corporate environments I had a lot of time for websurfing. Now that I don’t work for The Man anymore I tend not to find as many of those waste of time websites. I started thinking of some of them the other day and decided to post the ones I can remember. Let me take you back to the good old days of internet back when frames were popular and netscape was my browser of choice.

The Twinkies Project is a fun website where the “scientist” perfore experiments on twinkies. I find it funny how they into depth with the documentation of these experiments.

Mr. T Vs. Everything I pitty the fool that don’t like this site! Who doesn’t like Mr T? He’s Helluva tough!

The Onion this is where I used to get all my news before News for Nerds, Stuff that Matters. I still have this one set as my default start page. This site is a great source of odd news, I almost forgotten about this site but when I started working with Doug, I found out he is a Total Fark member and decided to start checking it again.

GeoCities was where a lot of my friends had their free web hosting. Now it looks like yahoo took it over.

Lycos and Webcrawler were the search engines that I perferred.

I Used to have a dial up account at Interaccess. It was a good ISP because they gave you a shell account, so you were able to use Pine for you’re email.

These are a few that I could remember. I’ll try to add more when I think of them.

The New!!

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

After many hours of playing with php, css, WordPress and Coppermine photo gallery. I think i finally got my website looking how I want it to. My biggest problem was with the upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4 of my photo gallery. The upgrade didn’t install right and my template wasn’t compatible with the newer version. I was able to get it up and running but I was still having some problems with the admin section. I decided that was good enough for the time being, so I put off the correct fix for awhile. Finally I put my lazyness aside and fixed the problem.

I kept the same header of my ceiling that I have been using, but added a little pizazz. I thought myself the very basics of flash animation so I decided to make a little flash header that is the same for the front page and the photo gallery. I plan to animate it a little more in the distant future, but right now it serves it’s purpose.

For now I’m happy with the layout of the pages, I would like to change the color scheme sometime in the near future, but we’ll see how my time is.

Hooked on a Feeling

Monday, February 6th, 2006

David Hasselhoff has done it again. Yes this is the same guy from Knight Rider and Baywatch, he also help knock down the Berlin wall. You could see him here: singing Hooked on a feeling.

I don’t know how old this is because the special effects are horrible, but I especially like his Superman effect. I hope this is a joke, but I’ll let  you decide. Watch at your own risk.

George Bush Sings Sunday Bloody Sunday

Bush U2
I was listening to Opie and Anthony this morning and I heard them play a mash up of George Bush singing the U2 song Sunday Bloody Sunday. After doing a little googling I was able to find the song on It was made by DJ RX who has done some more of these Bush mash ups, including one to My Generation by The Who. You might need to register at his site to hear the rest of the song but you could download Sunday Bloody Sunday here.
